Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I enjoy cooking, baking, dancing and raising my sons.

A Day of Boeuf Bourguignon, Gaming and Infant Care

Working on a few things on this second to last day of 2018. As I type this, the elder child is humming next to my chair demanding attention, so… one second.

That’s better.

Anyways, I first tried boeuf borguignon (Julia Child’s version courtesy Binging with Babish) this time last year. It was brilliant and amazing. And now, I once again revisited the recipe using stew meat from a butcher that is so expensive it hurts. But I know that the meal will come out brilliantly. This year for Christmas, I received Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child and so while I’m still pretty much following Babish’s video, I now have the original text to guide me. The smell is delightful.

I’ve also been working on my 12in12 list, and by working on the list, I mean that I’ve tried to play some games. A Hat in Time (pictured above) is one of my games on the list. It’s fun and gorgeous and I get to play as a girl. I’m a few chapters in and while the early game twist wasn’t all that twisty, it’s still been an amusing diversion to play in digestible chunks.

I feel bad today, my younger son is just 9 weeks old and I’m heading back to work soon. I feel as though I’m only just starting to understand some of his behaviors. I remember struggling with this with my first as well, so I know that it will pass.
