Like all new endeavors, this one fills me with excitement. As I mention in my About section, I work as a scientist (Microbiology) and while I was off work over the Christmas vacation, I decided to make food for my parents as their present. I had randomly asked my husband for a dutch oven on a whim in the hopes that I could make some better stews and soups. For whatever reason in the final days before Christmas I decided to make some pies and eclairs.
A quick google search provided me with the recipe for some eclairs and some additional searches provided nuances that I wished to incorporate. The eclairs were a success and I've made two batches since. I'm planning to write a post dedicated just to making those eclairs (with separate recipe page so if you want to use it, you don't need to read through my writing).
So coming off the heels of successful pies and eclairs and receiving not only a dutch oven but an instant pot, I had quite the week of cooking ahead of me. I made Julia Child's Bouf Bourguignon and a nice chuck roast as well as not only binging nearly all of Binging with Babish but then also making Aglio e olio (pictured) and watching Chef.
I posted a bit on Facebook to my mom group and mentioned the possibility of a blog. So here we are. I've got some themed content brewing and also a backlog of recipes. Hopefully anyone who joins me here will find the writing interesting and the recipes delicious. No worries, I'll be sharing any fails as well.
