Making a Stardew Valley Inspired Meal

Making a Stardew Valley Inspired Meal

This week, the challenge was Stocks and Broths. I had already made several batches of chicken stock thanks to Binging with Babish Basics video and wanted to use that in a Risotto. As I tried to determine which risotto recipe to try, I was looking through StardewValley posts and came across a few posts and comments talking about food from the game and fiddlehead risotto. What a match up!

Except we don't have any Fiddlehead ferns here in MA (or at least not that we could find quickly). So, research told me that while asparagus would have the closer flavor to fiddlehead ferns, green beans would also be an acceptable substitute. And I like green beans. I brainstormed how cute it would be to shape the green beans into fiddleheads (which was a bit of a fail).

Regardless, the recipe can be found here and it was really good. My toddler loved the "creamy rice" and I paired it with pan-roasted honey garlic chicken thighs which were also super yummy.

Additionally we made 5-ingredient sugar cookies challenge. Not much to see there, they were tasty sugar cookies.

A tasty game inspired dinner.
